air pollution and control thereof.

Plan and cause to be executed state wide programs for prevention, control
and abatement of water and air pollution.

Dissemination of data on environment quality in the State regarding lakes,
rivers and ambient air.

Lay down standards for point as well as non-point sources of pollution.
Evolving suitable technologies for waste management including hazardous
chemical and biomedical wastes.

Delimitation of Pollution Control areas.

Surveillance and monitoring of anti-pollution devices and regular
assessment of environment quality indicators.

Creating mass-awareness through hoarding, seminars, symposium and
distribution of simple and easily comprehensible literature/handouts.
